    Hi

Does or has anyone done a pre-filter covers, aka like the outawears pre filters, that can not only cover the foam filters but then maybe be long enuf or big enuf to engulf the carb as well?

The reason i ask is in a sandy enviroments the pre filter does a great job of protecting the foam filters, but lots of sand and crap builds up around the carby and im looking for anything anyone has tried...

Was thinking of getting a moto cross pre filter that is massive and then cutting it too size and oiling that..

i tried to find the right material but no luck.
i would be interested to see if anyone knows where to find it.
it is not fabric exactly as it is fuel resistant.

The problem is you still need an opening for the throttle arm to attach to the carb, fuel lines, etc.....so sand, dirt will still find its way in there somehow. It always does.

yeah the fine grain of sand will get in anywhere. After Sundays beach bash i just wouldn't mind reducing the chance, even if it covers the lsn and hsn. All i need is the material, i have access to high speed industrial sewing machine so i can get it stitch up if i need too

mmm modified pull start cover might do, but might not be big enuf. I know you can get pre filters for moto cross bikes, but there massively over sized, just need to get hold of a sewing machine and then i might be able to get something made up..

Bruce, just bring a can of degreaser along to the bash buddy, spray that on the carb every half hour or so and that will do the job just fine!!!
