Well we had a track layed out using Gokart tyres and rope and ply boared painted red and white. We used to race at Browndown field in Gosprt. But a couple of weeks ago we where told to move on and do not return. So at the moment the whoe Raw racing group is track less, and are still meeting up on sundays, and driving round till we fined somewhere.

Their are a load of us going to MMR for an indoor session on the 13th, and we where also thinking about goin to Orpington for a race everynow and again.

Currently looking to rent some land and a hanger from the local MOD airfield. If this comes through for us, I will have no need to go BRCA. but at the moment, my 2 week old MCD rr comp is goin to waste.

When I read your original post I assumed that the track at Orpington had closed....

There is a track about 30 or so miles from you near Ringwood, Dorset http://www.southcoastrc.co.uk/ the next nearest track that races largescale is Sweetnap just south of Frome on the Somerset/Wiltshire border http://web.me.com/jmcmanus/Sweetnap_Raceway/Welcome.html

I'm trying to get the landowner at the Angmering Motorsports Centre (just off the A27 near Worthing, Sussex) to commit some resources to rebuild the old 3aRaceway track for use by the largescale cars. At one time it was ideal for bashing -

The track layout has been simplified and the rostrum removed but with a little work it could make a viable location for bashing/racing and there are few restrictions on the use of the site as well...I don't recommend travelling down to use it at present though.

I hope you sort out a new site soon and please keep us informed and I will try and come down.

Thanx for the info, Me and the guys, are all getting are BRCA memberships so we can race at places like southcoast RC.
The only othe problem are group has is, its only me that has a race leagle pipe with the samba 4. So we are trying to fined out if they would exept Jetpros, with stingers attached.

Its very sad that we have to resort to racing like this. rather than are normal, turn up on a sunday morning setup the track, and have fun allday. With no rules and regs to worry about. BUT!!! after taking my RR comp out for the first time with the samba and 813 equiped. It was very clear that I need a decent technical track as I was getting bored. on the track we had setup. unfortunatly with the space we had sunday we only had enough room for a square track.

but hopefully we can get somewhere sorted out soon.

You probably won't have any problems using the Jetpros at club race meetings but I doubt they would be allowed at the Nationals, either because they are too loud or more likely they are exposed and not covered by the bodyshell.

I checked out the old 3aRaceway track on sunday and it is in a sorry state, not only flooded but someone had used a motocross bike on it...the people who look after the RC tracks and the karting track don't appear willing to carry out any maintenance at present. I'm always on the lookout for somewhere new to use the toys but I avoid any parks. From next month I will have the use of a motocross track on wednesdays...

The smaller beginners circuit would make an excellent RC track and originally the owners were prepared to convert it into an RC track but there was and still is not enough interest in the South East to justify it.

Unfortunatly, that southcoast RC track says no race pipes alowed, only standerd boxes, or silenced pipes, under 81db.

I might actualy make angmering a an offer then. Ill look after the track with the rest of the club, and they can make some cash from it.

Why don't you come down to the next largescale race meeting at the on road track and have a look at what is left of the off road track http://www.1-5racing.co.uk/smcc/index.php/home-page

I will be going down to the track in the next few weeks and will take a few photos of the off road track in its current state.

The landowner had simplified the track layout as he was hoping to run corporate events at the Motorsports Centre including the use of Honda Pilots on what is left of the off road track.

My plan/idea was to make more of the infield section of the track suitable for the largescale cars but until the track dries out completely there is no point doing anything yet.
